The first ever Teddy bear to have a growl - a tilt growler with a sonorous humming noise - was presented to trade visitors and Teddy bear enthusiasts at the Leipzig Toy Fair in 1908. To pay tribute to this great innovation, the creative developers at Steiff have marked the 100th Anniversary of the growler with something new and very special: an Anniversary Collection of three Teddy bears in different colours: Paul the Growling Bear.

This lovable long-pile mohair bear is the baby brother of the original growling Teddy Bear of 1908. To mark the 100th Anniversary of the growler, he sports a rust coloured silk bow-tie embroidered with the years 1908 and 2008 in gold-coloured thread.

His authentic character and appealing growl make this Limited Edition a much sought-after item among collectors and enthusiasts.
