Steiff NANDO (035166) - 30 cm Copper Velvet Mohair Boxed Ltd Edition 1008/1500. Nando is a stunning new bear released in 2013.
He is a member of the fantastic Paradise Jungle collection. He is a bear with bags of personality and a sense of adventure, demonstrated by his beautiful (working) compass worn on a chain around his neck. Nando is very special because he is made from a wonderful, russet-tipped, chestnut mohair - hand-dyed using the batik technique. He has lots of highly-detailed air-brushing around his eyes, nose and ears.
His nose is sewn from chestnut floss, framed with black thread, while his claws and mouth are stitched with black floss. Released as a limited edition of 1500 pieces with a gold button in his ear, this being number 1008, Nando is 5 way jointed and stands 30cm tall. Nando has been living in a smoke free home with adult collectors, he has only been displayed and has not been handled much to help preserve him. He comes complete with his original box and certificates as shown in the photo.The box has some slight wear and tear from being stored. His safety warning label has some creasing as shown in the photos.
